The Island.
The Island. - Lindsay Hamilton, March 3rd, 2009

I have staken my claim,
Of your love,
Out at sea.

So let me drown in that ocean,
While I drink you in,
Enveloped by that hot ocean,
Sweet, salty, stinging my wounded eyes.

Lay your head in my lap,
And may your dreams paint a map,
Of a night time journey,
My arms are your ship.

My pulsing heart,
O painful heart,
It aches and pains,
For something distance cannot seem spare.

You are my mirror,
Or so it may seem.
I see myself in you,
My body is my sutured heart,
That you refuse to repair.

My scars are far too beautiful,
In your deep ocean eyes.

Sunken ships and treasure,
Are not only myth,
Your words are the golden pieces buried deep in the forgotten sand.
Each syllable a priceless gem that no replica can hope to match.

This sea of linen,
Drenched in our skin,
Parched by seaside sunlight,
Famished of all abandonment.

Let your body be the island,
Your mind the desert,
And may I be infinitely stranded,
Your eyes my only escape,
From a land barren without the hope of your touch.

xoxo

Enjoy. <3
